We’re looking for a skilled Structural Engineer to provide technical support and manage structural engineering projects, from initial assessment to design and implementation. Design and analyze bridges of various sizes and scopes, ensuring they meet quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop engineering products, including defining the problem, establishing scope, preparing budget and schedule, providing technical direction, and reporting status.
  • Design and analyze bridges (single-span, multiple-span, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, precast concrete, steel).
  • Perform detailed calculations, 3D models, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and bridge scour analysis.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines.
  • Perform other engineering-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads.
  • Experience in VA/MD/DC region preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 8+ years of bridge design experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Roadway geometric design background.
  • Experience with policies and procedures preferred.
  • Experience with design-build projects desirable.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (Tedds/Tekla Structural Designer, RISA, REVIT, AutoCAD).
