We’re looking for a skilled Safety Manager to oversee and manage safety programs and initiatives for environmental remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and assist project and construction management on safety plans.
  • Ensure project safety plans align with company policy and regulations.
  • Advise and assist senior site representative in establishing and managing ESHARP Management and SH&E processes.
  • Identify and eliminate hazards.
  • Adhere to USEPA and NIOSH safety and environmental requirements.
  • Provide safety training to employees and subcontractors.
  • Conduct safety inspections and maintain records.
  • Conduct mishap investigations and prepare reports.
  • Maintain safety reference materials.
  • Attend pre-construction and other project meetings.
  • Implement and enforce Activity Hazard Analysis (AHAs).
  • Implement Human Performance and Employee Based Safety Observation programs.
  • Perform IOGCP Start Work Checks, Site Checks, Isolation of Hazardous Energy, Pre-start up Safety Reviews.
  • Maintain safety and health deficiency tracking system.
  • Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety requirements.
  • Supervise first aid personnel.
  • Audit job accident records and prepare reports.
  • Represent management during safety inspections.
  • Review and distribute safety inspection reports.
  • Oversee new hire safety orientation and other training.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide technical assistance to safety planning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10+ years of experience in safety supervision and management.
  • 30-hour OSHA General Industry safety class, Safety Trained Supervisor certification, or 5+ years of construction industry safety experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state health and safety regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • ASP or CSP certification preferred.
