We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to design and analyze crane systems, supporting existing rebuilds and new product development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate re-engineered crane structures to determine structural reinforcement, performance improvements, or powertrain overhauls.
- Utilize rapid iterative virtual prototyping for optimal solutions.
- Solve technical problems individually or collaboratively.
- Ensure design quality balances functionality and physical constraints.
- Adapt to dynamic timelines and support emergency derailments with specialized lifting apparatus designs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (EIT or PE preferred).
- Experience with SolidWorks (CSWP or CSWA preferred) or similar modeling software.
- Understanding of strengths and limitations of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and supporting results with hand calculations.
- Applied experience in analyzing engineering problems and developing creative solutions.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to interact positively with coworkers, vendors, and team members.
- Understanding of safety policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
